CSGO anime skins – Explained 2019
Anime is a style of animation closely associated with Japan. Often characterized by very colorful and vivid graphics, fantastical or sci-fi themes and memorable, over-the-top characters. During 1980’, Anime experienced rapid growth in popularity in the West, especially in America. Since then, anime had become a very popular form of animation and stylistic choice. At least popular enough to be placed on many CSGO skins.
In this article we will focus on CSGO anime skins, we will try to answer which are the best CSGO anime skins, and how to get them. So, for starters, we tried choosing five anime CGO skins that we consider interesting. We’ll do a more detailed breakdown of them, as we fill they are good representatives of this style.
5 best anime skins in CSGO with prices and StatTrak prices respectively:
- AK-47 | Bloodsport; avg. $50/$150
- Galil AR | Crimson Tsunami; avg. $0,50/$1,50
- AWP | Oni Taiji; avg. $45/$200
- Galil AR | Kami; avg. $0,45/$1
- AUG | Akihabara Accept; $500/not possible
Now, let’s look at them in more detail!
AK-47 | Bloodsport
Fully covered in white logos over the red and black hydrographic background with yellow details on the magazine, barrel, muzzle sight. This anime CSGO skin that came in Spectrum Case looks like was based on the design of a high-end sports car. The AK47’s high rate of fire and considerable recoil together with Bloodsport finish makes it look even faster and more dangerous. When it comes to price, you’ll get one for around $50. However, StatTrak versions cost a lot more, between $100 and $200.
Galil AR | Crimson Tsunami
This restricted assault rifle came into the CSGO as a part of Spectrum Case. Blue waves clearly inspired by the famous Katsushika Hokusai’s “The Great Wave”, are painted on top of the maroon base with reddish hues towards the top of the gun giving this Terrorist assault rifle very stylish look. It is one of the very cheap, yet still interesting CSGO anime skins costing $2 at best, and usually priced under $1. The very low cost may be related to the usability of the Galil AR rifle. Being a very cheap and quite weak weapon it can be a great twist for an eco round, however, it is rarely used in buy rounds.
AWI | Oni Taiji
Do you like Japan, samurais, demons, sniper rifles, and CSGO but you had no idea how to combine all those things at once? Fear not, Oni Taiji is here! This CSGO anime skin is available in all wears and ranges from $25 to no more than $100. With quite an upward trend over the last couple months as well as high differences in prices between separate days Oni Taiji proves a good investment for both long-term and short-term investors. It is also available in StatTrak tech and can get quite expensive – between $100 and $300.
Galil AR | Kami
There’s just something about Galil and anime CSGO skins. A second very cheap skin for Galil, most likely for the same reason – Galil AR is a rifle perfect in very specific situations. Still, Galil cannot match AK-47 versatility. When it comes to the design, Galil AR | Kami has a very simple concept. It is almost fully printed with black and white manga, except the handles and part of the barrel being simply black. This may not be a skin for everyone, but, for us, it is one of the best CSGO anime skins out there. Available for less than $3.
AUG | Akihabara Accept
What if the CSGO was also an Anime magazine? Hard to imagine, right? Well, Valve managed to do so and it took the form of AUG | Akihabara Accept. It is surely one of the best anime CSGO skins available. In AUG | Akihabara Accept, vivid colors, headlines, and Japanese magazine style merge with the precision of the Austrian weapon manufacturer creating a truly original experience. Being one of the most popular CSGO anime skins, Akihabara Accept can reach an absurd price of around $1500 for Factory New despite not having a StatTrak version available. Field-Tested and below, are a lot more affordable and do not usually go over $300.
Why are anime skins so popular?
To proparely address this question, we have to think why virtually any skins are popular? Well, for one, it may be their rarity and sheer value. After all, we generally like to have unique and expensive things and some skins may serve both of these cravings quite well. An AUG | Akihabara Accept (Factory New) may be one of such anime skins in CSGO.
Another reason may be their style. Since 1980’ there are more and more people fascinated with Japanese culture in all their versions, also animated one. Therefore, if we find something pleasing to the eye, we just like to have it around in one way or another. A shame that there are no CSGO cool knife skins based on anime design. We feel they may be potential in such designs.
Which cases do drop anime skins?
Out of the five CSGO anime skins we wrote about above, only four of them come from cases. Akihabara Accept is a very rare skin that can be dropped as a random drop from the game but cannot be uncased. This may be one of the reasons for its high market value.
Out of the remaining four anime CSGO skins, two, namely AK-47 | Bloodsports and Galil AR | Crimson Tsunami come from Spectrum Cases. With the Spectrum Case being dirt cheap ($0.02) and still having other nice skins like USP-S | Neo-Noir, AWP | Fever Dream or CZ75-Auto | Xianglui it may be worth to get some and open. Just remember, the odds won’t be in your favor so do it only if you have some money to spend.
The last two of the CSGO anime skins we chose, AWP | Oni Taiji and Galil AR | Kami come from Operation Hydra Case and Huntsman Weapon Case respectively. Although Huntsman Weapon Case is quite expensive ($2) the chances for dropping the Galil AR | Kami skin are high as this CSGO anime skin is a blue grade skin.
