The SSG 08 is one of the definite skill-based weapons in CSGO. A cheap alternative to the AWP, the scout is capable of turning a force-buy on its head thanks to its one-shot-headshot capabilities.

Not to be confused with SG 553 skins CSGO’s collection of SSG 08 skins features some real gems that will have your opponents envying you right after they get headshotted on Mirage’s mid.

Top SSG 08 CS GO Skins

Here are several fair examples of noteworthy SSG 08 counterparts, both in terms of price and their visage.

SSG 08 | Dragonfire

Unlike its bigger and more legendary cousin, the AWP | Dragonlore, the Dragonfire is actually a very different skin to the other drake-related artwork in the game. Featuring a fire-breathing serpent in comic-book stylistics, it really stands out as one of the best bang for buck CS GO SSG 08 skins.

With Factory New versions starting at around $17 and going up to around $70 with StatTrak™, the Dragonfire is sure to be a great choice for people who have fantasy and comic book themed inventories.

SSG 08 | Blood in the Water

We venture from dangers looming in the fantasy skies to the apex predator of our very real oceans. Blood in the Water sports the image of a shark following a trail of blood, evoking Hollywood classics such as Jaws and Sharknado (just kidding!).

As one of the more popular SSG 08 CSGO skins, Blood in the Water starts at around $30 for all wear levels, and skyrockets up to the neighborhood of $200 for Factory New SharkTrak™, erm… StatTrak™ finishes. If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative that will track your shark-inflicted headshots, the Minimal Wear and Field-Tested wears come in at a much cheaper $90.

SSG 08 | Big Iron

While the name might make you think of Tiger Woods, Big Iron’s got nothing to do with golf. A very unique mix of sci-fi and steampunk aesthetics, the Big Iron gives out a feel that wouldn’t’ feel too out of place in Star Wars, but also would somehow fit the world of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. If you’re looking for unique skins that mix seemingly unmixable themes, this gold-coated concoction might be one you love.

Its unique nature makesit one of the best value-for-money SSG 08 skins CSGO has to offer, with Factory New skins starting at around $10, and StatTrak™ models going for about $40.

SSG 08 | Death’s Head

The SSG 08 skins CS GO has in its catalogue feature some of the most unique artwork in the game. We’ve had Dragons, we’ve had Sharks, we’ve had Sci-Fi-Steampunk. Now we have… moths. You’d think with a name like Death’s Head this skin would feature the Grim Reaper himself, but instead, it’s a tribute to the iconic moth you might recognize from the posters for Silence of the Lambs.

Even though the design looks like an insect, the moth’s stripes on the gun give it a sort of Tiger-like feel. If you like uncommon camo-like designs, you might just love Death’s Head, which is available for around $10… with StatTrak™.

SSG 08 | Ghost Crusader

You might also think that this skin refers to an evil spectre, but it actually refers to a ghost bat… Yeah, that’s not true. The Ghost Crusader is perhaps the most conventional of the SSG 08 CSGO skins on our list. Featuring a clean white-and-blue futuristic design, it wouldn’t feel out of place in an inventory filled with Asiimov’s and Redlines. So, if you’re into sci-fi or minimalism, the Ghost Crusader is for you.

Very much like the Big Iron, this one is a great bang-for-buck proposition—literally, if you’re willing to settle for the Field-Tested version. Even the Factory New level will only cost you around $5, with StatTrak™ costs skyrocketing to $20. If you’re looking to follow your ghostly kills, we’d suggest going with the Minimal Wear version which costs around $7.

Where to Get SSG 08 CSGO Skins?

If you’re looking to loot these skins, we’ve got some bad news for you. There isn’t a single case in CSGO with more than one of these skins in it. If you’re looking for the most expensive of them in the form of a StatTrak™ Blood in the Water, the CS:GO Weapon Case 2 is your best bet.

However, as always, the best and cheapest way of getting your favourite SSG 08 skin is to simply buy it, either off the Steam Marketplace or a third-party site. Just check Skinwallet Market for a choice of SSG 08 skins at a bargain price.

How to Sell SSG 08 Skins?

Alright, so you’ve had your fair share of headshots with your favourite scout skin, but now it’s time to move on to another skin… or maybe you want to buy something completely different with the money. How do you go about it?

Selling it on the Steam Marketplace is a great option if you want to reinvest it into a video game or a different skin, however, the aforementioned marketplaces might be a better option for the latter, especially given Steam’s 10% transaction fee.
If you, however, want cash in hand, they become your only safe option along with Instant Payout sites like Skinwallet. Note that while these marketplaces may be offering higher rates, you often have to wait for someone to purchase the skin before you get your payout, or even wait for Steam’s 14-day trade freeze to expire on the item if you’re using the Marketplace as a middle man for a transaction with another user.

Trading directly with another user is also another option, but you have to remember to avoid Scammers while doing so. Read our guide to learn how to avoid common CSGO scams and keep your skins safe.

Are SSG 08 Skins an Instant Headshot?

The scout isn’t the AK-47 or M4A4, it’s more of a specialist tool for good snipers to make the most out of eco rounds. If you’re looking for guns you’ll be using often, think about whether that applies to you before purchasing a skin for the gun. After all, if you’re more of a rifler, perhaps investing that money into an SMG skin will be a better bet?

However, if you’re dead set on adorning your SG with some colours, there are some incredible designs that are sure to fit your inventory. So if you’re a sniper looking to invest or just somebody wanting a full skin collection, our suggestions should work out well for you.

As long as you get those headshots.
