Among all the weapons available in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, AK-47 may be one of the most iconic, if not the most iconic weapon. It finds its way to hand of both casual and pro players each match. Therefore, it is not weird that AK47 Skins are one of the biggest collection for any single weapon.
What are AK47 Skins?
As with all other sins, there are generally custom paint jobs for the AK-47 assault rifle. AK47 CSGO skins are numerous and expensive. Moreover, their rarity and price also depend on the additional features they may have. Of course, we are talking about StatTrak tech, a feature that helps you track all frags scored with this particular weapon. Taking into consideration its popularity on both casual and pro scenes, StatTrak versions of AK47 skins can raise its price by tenfold in contrast to base versions. There are also souvenir AK47 that drop only from souvenir packages that are available during Major CSGO events. Souvenir skins come with a unique set of stickers already applied, so some combination can raise the price even further. All in all, AK47 CSGO skins are many and some are extremely expensive. We’ll talk about the specific prices a bit later. Now, let’s talk about obtaining them.
You can gain new CSGO AK47 skins in a number of ways. First of all, you can drop in-game the current AK47 Skin which was named Uncharted. However, this particular skin is very cheap and not very memorable. To get other AK 47 skins you will have to either buy them from Steam Community Market or other markets or drop them from cases. However, be prepared to pay a lot for AK47 skins with low wear level.
What are the qualities of AK47 Skins?
Quality of skin is the attribute that simulates the wear and tear applied during hypothetical battle. It is expressed as a float value and can be divided into five levels. Beginning with not damaged at all Factory New, through Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, and Well-Worn up to completely messed up Battle-Scarred. Of course, depending on the given skin and your taste you may find more damaged skins more stylish. Still, the rule of thumb says that Factory New skins are the most expensive ones.
AK 47 skins can be also divided by rarity. Every rarity level is marked with a corresponding color. For your convenience, we have listed all rarity grades available in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive below.
Consumer Grade (White)
These are very common skins that are rather easy to drop through normal play. Common weapon skins usually cost just a few cents. Other than a few exceptions they are good for Trade Up contracts. There isn’t any AK47 common skin available.
Industrial Grade (Light blue)
Slightly rarer than Consumer Grade skins but still pretty common. More expensive skins then Consumer Grade, but still quite cheap. AK-47 | Predator can be bought for ~$5.
These are the rare skins that you can still acquire quite easily from cases but they hold their prices quite well. Easy to obtain through Trade Up contracts. When it comes to CSGO AK47 Skins A good example of this category is AK-47 | Elite Build costing up to $5 for normal and $25 for StatTrak versions.
Restricted skins are considerably harder to get and can reach quite high prices. For example, AK-47 | First Class (FN) can go for almost $40.
These skins are very rare, which means some of them are very expensive. There’s also a very visible difference in price between more and less damaged skins. For example, AK-47 | Jet Set (BN) can be easily obtained for $50 whereas a Factory New version (no StatTrak!) can be sold for $350 or even more.
The pinnacle of weapon skins. If you got one and need a lot of money at once, you could pay your bills for a month by selling one of those on the more expensive end of the price spectrum. From the AK family, AK-47 | Asiimov StatTrak is the best example. It easily reaches $750 or more.
What are the most expensive AK47 Skins?
There is a considerable number of highly priced AKs available in CSGO. For the purpose of this article, we will narrow it down to five currently most expensive AK47 Skins.
AK-47 | Fire Serpent
One of the most wanted skins available only to the high-rollers. This quite simple concept of a graffiti dragon placed on the vanilla AK47 background is extremely hard to get. The normal version starts at around $150 and goes as high as $800. StatTrak Field Tested AK-47 | Fire Serpent can be sold for $2000, and no one saw a Factory New in a while. We bet it would be worth more than the entire inventories of most players – a prize available only to pro players or hardcore skin traders. It comes from Operation Bravo Cases which is available for $15 per case if you want to try your luck.
AK-47 | Asiimov
This much more affordable yet still very expensive, freshly looking part of the Asiimov skin series clad in white, black and orange is a skin you either love or hate. Either way, no one can stay indifferent to this AK47 skin. The normal Asiimov is rather affordable between $30 and $180. StatTrak Factory New, however, can reach almost $1000.
AK-47 | Red Laminate
Very beautiful and simple finish with all wooden parts being laminated and treated with hydrographic finish in red and black. This AK47 skin being a part of eSports 2013 Case is really hard to get, especially in its StatTrack version. Normal Red Laminates start as low as $15 and can reach $250. StatTrak is pure madness – $50 for Battle-Scarred; $1200 for Factory New.
AK-47 | Empress
One of the most beautiful and most popular high-tier AK47 CSGO skins donned in royal colors and image of an empress. Loved by many pro players. Available from $40 up to $100 for the normal version. StatTrak can reach $500.
AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel
Crude, anarchist and dangerous. Despite its relatively low popularity, a Factory New Wasteland Rebel can go for $100. StatTrak, traditionally, can reach $750 in its Factory New version.
Where can you buy and sell AK47 skins?
You have two options when buying AK47 skins. First is the Steam Community Market. This is probably the safest but not very efficient way. The prices on the Steam Community Market are usually 10%-20% higher than on other third-party markets. As a buyer, you will have to also pay the transaction fee, so it’s an extra 15% on top of an already high price.
The second option is to go to one of the third-party markets and look for an interesting Csgo AK47 Skins listings. Even though the prices are lower, the whole process is less secure and quite tedious at times.
If you want to sell your AK47 Skins you can do this either on Steam Community Market, on third-party markets or through mass deposit service such as Skinwallet. Each of these options has naturally its own pros and cons. While the prices on the Steam Community Market are the highest, all money you earn that way lands in the SteamWallet of your account. This means you cannot pay it out in any way. Third-party market websites offer lower prices but the cash is available outside the Steam ecosystem. A problematic part is a huge number of scam attacks.
Skinwallet is the best choice if you need to sell a big number of skins and instantly pay your cash out to Paypal. To sell AK47 Skins on Skinwallet, you have to set your Steam inventory to public, log in to Skinwallet with your Steam account and fill in your Trade URL (a guide how to find it is available here) and go to the deposit. Now, just check the AK47 CSGO Skins you want to sell. The price of each individual item will be displayed beneath it. When you’re ready to go forward with your transaction, click on that button. A pop-up with security information will open up. To proceed, click on the available on the pop-up window. This is the safest way to complete the transaction as you will be redirected straightly to that particular trade in Steam. Check the details of the trade and accept it when you’re ready. Your funds should be available at your Skinwallet account in mere seconds.
